Q. What is mange and the symptoms a cat would have?

Answered By

A. Mange is an a mite infestation of either Demodexx mite or Scabies, it I important to differentiate which by having a skin scrape done. Demodexx is an overpopulation of the mites already present in the dogs normal skin, and Scabies is a contagious mite that is not normally there and can infect both other pets and people.
Symptoms can range from dry scaly skin with hair loss to just patchy areas of hair loss. It is best to have a vet with a trained eye take a look at the skin and do a skin scrape as mentioned earlier to diagnose mites and treat properly.
