A. I would highly recommend you get some further testing on your pets skin. Skin cytology +/- biopsy is often needed for skin problems that don't resolve with standard treatment of antibiotics because something else is usually there and needs special treatment to manage it. Once you identify what is there you can better treat it.
Sometimes also in older pets internal diseases can even cause chronic skin problems such as liver disease, Cushings disease, and thyroid disease. If your senior pet is overdue for her annual bloodwork then now is a good time to get her updated.
