Q. My 5 month old kitten Ella has recently started to poop under the Christmas tree and at times behind the front door. She still uses her litter box

Answered By

A. Kittens can find new pieces of furniture such as christmas trees to be a significant disruption to their environment and routine and can cause distress to litter training routines. If the frequency and consistency of her stools has not changed and she is eating and growing well I would be happy to monitor her and expect it to settle down quickly. Any diarrhea or other signs should be investigated with a fecal exam
