Q. We have a stray that was fixed thru the TNR program and his ear was clipped. On top of that ear seems to be a worm of some sort, what could it be?

Answered By

A. Worms in or on skin are very unusual but if weather conditions are favorable there would always be a possibility of maggot infection but an ear tip wound would be very unlikely to be affected. I may also be the scab lifting as it heals or he may have torn a strip from the wound while scratching. I would return cat to clinic for a post operative check if at all possible or take a picture of same and show to them for assessment
