Q. My dog has a lump sticking out on his side it is the size of a pencil eraser and is pink what could it be ?

Answered By

A. There are many reasons for lumps to be present from wounds and infections which require antibiotics to growths and tumors. Young dogs are particularly prone to a very quick going mass which ulcerates and becomes red but which is completely benign - termed a histiocytoma. A small sample can be taken by your vet and submitted to the lab to confirm that there is nothing sinister going on.
