Q. I have a 8 yr old pug with constant congestion & nasal mucus. Some relief with Benadryl. Won't take meds & can't hide in food. What else can I try?

A. It would be important to rule out any other underlying factors such as a foreign body, bacterial infection, airway disease or collapsed vocal folds etc. Steam therapy with vicks or olbas oil can help with mucus as can removing any airfresheners etc which may be irritating her. There are a number of meds which could help but not if you are unable to administer them
