Q. Male cat. Five yrs old, healthy, muscular, is vomiting since yesterday. The vomit smell is normal, black eye discharges also.

A. 24-36hours vomiting in a cat is not unusual and as long as he is drinking, willing to eat a little and is not lethargic you could continue to feed small, bland meals of boiled chicken or turkey, maintain fluid intake and monitor closely. If there is any fever, lethargy or weakness he should be assessed by a vet as soon as possible; fasting even for 24-48hours can cause significant complications so if he is not eating you should seek an emergency appointment
