Q. My dog has a hernia and is having problems with die rear but just started having this after we got him some dog treats

Answered By

A. You do not mention where the hernia is so it is difficult to be specific with advice here - they can many places. It is possible the dog treats have resulted in some change in stool quality/constipation and could be contributing to the problem, especially if he has a perineal hernia as any alteration in stool quality or consistency could create complications. Restricted, balanced diets are important to help prevent such problems in these patients; he may require a trip to the vet for assessment and pain relief if this continues
