Q. My adult female cat has apparently gotten a bad cold with a lot of snot & mucus. She has stopped eating drinking, or doing anything, for 2 days now.

A. If she has sopped drinking she may need intravenous fluids and injectable medications in order to stabilize her. Steam therapy with vicks or olbas oil can help to free some of the congestion and warm, strong smelling foods such as fish or roast chicken can help to attract their attention once they are willing and able to eat. She will likely need pain relief and medications to loosen the mucus from your vet and may also need antibiotics if she has a secondary bacterial infection also
