Q. My two long haired cats both have itchy spots. Both are on hypoallergenic wet and dry food. They are on a flea programme every month the are rescued

A. Ensure that the diet formulation is a hydroltzed protein source (which must be fed exclusively for 8weeks to assess the impact of food) and I strongly recommend skin scrapes and samples to rule out infections or parasites. Anti-allergy medication and also supplements to reduce anxiety may help if the food trial is negative and they are able to tolerate oral supplements
