Q. If my dog won't eat what could be wrong? What will blood tests prove? He has diarrhea. Sara Boyd

Answered By

A. Loss of appetite is a very non specific sign and can happen for hundreds of reasons. Blood tests ate often recommended to investigate internal causes such as liver, kidney and hormonal causes and to look for markers of infection, inflammation or tumor processes. If he has been off food for more than 5days with no obvious cause further investigation including blood tests would be recommended
