Q. I've heard that you should avoid supermarket canned food. What is the best brand to buy?

Answered By

A. Supermarket canned food for cats is usually of at least adequate quality. Most brands like Friskies or Fancy Feast, or similar brands are actually quite good. Wet food (canned) is usually better than dry food as there are less carbohydrates in the food and also ensures more hydration. You should also have your kitty's teeth looked at, as at that age they often are painful.

A. Grocery store brands typically have a bad reputation. They are cheap foods made with poor ingredients but there can Be exceptions to that rule. Check out the local brands at www.dogfoodadvisor.com and you can compare for yourself.
