Q. Urine tinged with blood 6 days after urethral blockage

Answered By

A. A urethral blockage in a tom is an emergency and he needs to be seen by a veterinarian. It is a life threatening condition. If he was seen for a blockage a week ago, was unblocked, and now has hematuria or bloody urine again, you need to take him back to the vet. He will need to be checked for a reblocking , or at least for a urinary tract infection, which can be a sequel to a blockage. Please take him back to the vet ASAP.
