Q. Can I give my dog with cancer in all her nodes & organs my prednisone 20mg. I would multiply .02 x 80 (her weight) or Fentanyl Patch cut to her weight

Answered By

A. Since prednisone can be given in varying doses, and is not necessarily suitable for all types of cancer, it is strongly advisable that you ask your veterinarian about the suitability and dosage of the prednisone for your dog. He knows your dog's condition and physical condition best and can give you a better advice than I, who has never seen your dog. Fentanyl patches should not be cut unless your veterinarian advises you to do so, and should also prescribed by your vet. There are other strong pain killers available for dogs in tablet form which may be more suitable. Please discuss this with your vet.
