Q. We think my cat has a fungal & yeast infection in his nail beds. Pemphigus ruled out. Wondering what your recommended method of treatment would be?

Answered By

A. Your vet can determine whether it is a fungal infection (yeast is a fungus), or bacterial infection or an allergy. If he is not sure about the procedures you should ask him for a referral to a veterinary dermatologist. A clear concise diagnosis is necessary to treat successfully. If it is indeed a yeast infection there are prescription medicines and shampoos to treat with.
