Q. my cat has lost a lot of weight and wont eat

Answered By

A. If your cat has not eaten for more than 2 days it is an emergency and he needs to be seen by a vet now. If he has lost a lot of weight and is an older kitty, he may be suffering from hyperthyroidism or a gastrointestinal problem and needs to be seen by a veterinarian as well. The vet will likely want to do a blood test and possibly radiographs, depending on the findings of his exam.
