Q. My dog is continuously humping everything. Is there a way to stop this behaviour? Is it normal?

Answered By

A. This can be a normal behavior in both intact and neutered dogs. It can be related to various types of behavior including play, sexual, social, compulsive or even a reaction to stress or a certain stimuli in the environment.

If this is a new behavior it would be important to rule out any underlying medical conditions, such as a urinary tract infection or priapism (persistent, often painful erections). For more information: http://bit.ly/1y5dxHZ
