A. If it hasn't already been done, have feces tested again for parasites, including checking for protozoans, which may require sending stool to a lab for testing (depending on your veterinarian's in-house lab facilities). You may also want to retreat for tapeworms because reinfection can occur by swallowing fleas during grooming. Make sure you discuss with your vet what foods you are feeding, how much, how often, and what ingredients are in the food (especially what meats and grains). Also make sure you discuss the consistency of the stool and whether you see mucus or blood in the stool. Ask you veterinarian about trying a bland diet or a prescription hypallergenic diet. Consider ultrasound and/or a referral to a internal specialist if the problem persists.
