Q. DOg's 1 eye won't open fully and his tiny bit of goo coming out of it. Is there something I can wash it out with or what should I do?

Answered By

A. A vet visit is called for here. There are many possible causes for "goo" coming out of the eye including conjunctivitis (caused by bacteria or virus), corneal ulcer, disorders of the eyelids, a foreign object in the eye. A warm wet cloth gently dapped to the eye can moistened and loose the "goo" temporarily but the underlying cause needs to be found and treated. Don't mess around with your dog's eye - seek vet assistance.
