Q. Right eye bleeding and some discharge. Will partly clear, then start again. Has been going on for several weeks.

A. Your pet needs to be seen by a vet for a full ophthalmic exam right away. There may be some damage to the eye that needs treatment in order for it to heal properly. Your vet will check pressures in both eyes (for glaucoma) and apply a special dye to check for damage to the cornea. It is important to find out why this is happening so the correct treatment is done as what may work for simple inflammation of the eye can cause more damage if the cornea is damaged.
