Q. My dog is lethargic, he is panting and drooling, dripping saliva from his mouth, he is listless, he's vomited, and he shakes all over. What's wrong?

A. He may have eaten something he shouldn't have and has an upset stomach and is nauseated, hence the drooling and vomiting. If what he swallowed was a non-food item, such as a toy or a small piece of plastic or other foreign material, it may be caught somewhere in his intestinal tract and is causing pain, which produces the shaking and lethargy. I recommend getting him in to a vet or emergency clinic right away, if he has an intestinal obstruction, it can be life-threatening if left untreated.
