Q. Our 18 month old dog had diarrohea a couple of days ago. This is now the second day he hasn't pooped. Should we be concerned? Thanks.

A. If he seems to be fine otherwise, I would keep an eye on him. Since he had diarrhea, it may just be taking time for him to build anything solid in his bowel after that. As long as his appetite is good and he feels normal, I would give it another day. However, if he still has not produced any feces by tomorrow, and/or starts feeling sick, lethargic, loses his appetite, vomits or diarrhea resumes, get him in to see your vet right away as this may be signs of a more serious underlying cause.
