Q. 6 y.o. Cat didn't eat all morning (rare), then pooped on the floor (also rare) - hard stools plus one big gloopy green stool. Then she ate. Is she ok?

A. Monitor for a continuation of symptoms. A bland diet served warm can stimulate the appetite and ease defecation. A teaspoon of plain canned pumpkin (NOT pie filling) can be mixed in with meals once or twice daily to provide additional fiber to keep her regular. If it continues and she does not resume eating or has difficulty eliminating, then see your vet for an exam.
