Q. So what is the treatment for these cysts between my dogs toes. He has had one for 2 months. It gets large and then goes down and repeats.

Answered By

A. These interdigital cysts, or more accurately furuncles, are typically caused by bacterial infection. The most effective treatment is a combination of systemic and topical antibiotic therapy. See your vet for an exam and diagnostics to rule out auto immune conditions, allergies or sensitivities and foreign body. Place an e-collar on your dog to prevent excessive licking. You can soak the affected paw in an Epsom salt solution to provide some relief.
