Q. My cat is 5 yrs old she is licking off her fur on her back gets twitching and she throwsup furballs with bile she eats and pees and poops ok.

Answered By

A. Place an e-collar (cone) on her to prevent further licking. Rule out fleas or other parasites as well as infection (yeast or bacterial) as the underlying cause of the behavior. You may need to see your vet for an exam for this. More frequent grooming or brushing will decrease the incidence of hairballs. An OTC paste such as Laxatone or PetroMalt may ease the passing of any hairballs.
