Q. Our Maltese is 10 yrs old and in the last 6 months her eye has enlarged. Our Vet says that the her eye pressure is 70 and the eye needs to be removed

Answered By

A. If you have concerns, schedule a consult and exam with a veterinary ophthalmologist. Normal IOP in dogs can range between 12 and 25 mm Hg, so a pressure of 70 is extremely high and likely quite painful for your dog. Don't delay too long thus allowing your dog to potentially suffer needlessly.
