Q. My 2 year old chiweenie terrier is having ear pain and it is wet and moist inside. Could this be an ear infection?

Answered By

A. It is possible. Schedule an exam with your vet. An swab of the ear can be taken and examined under a microscope for evidence of bacterial infection. A culture and sensitivity may also be submitted. Your vet can clean the ear properly afterwards and will treat the ear as indicated. You may want to place an e-collar (cone) on her to prevent scratching or rubbing until the appointment.
