Q. Can a interdigital cyst cause my dog to not want to eat or not be as interested in food?..

Answered By

A. The swelling and pain may affect the appetite. A deep bacterial infection is a common cause, that may also affect the appetite. Serve the food warm or mix in a tablespoon of baby food to stimulate the appetite. Soak the affected paw in an Epsom salt solution 2-3 times daily. Dry completely afterwards. Place an e-collar on him if he is licking or chewing the paw to prevent further trauma. An exam by your vet and antibiotics may be required for resolution.
