Q. My kitten got hit by a car and he can't move his legs now..he can poop but he can't pee..his urinary area became blue..what can I do?no clinic here

Answered By

A. The blue is likely bruising from the trauma. Ideally, he should be seen by a veterinarian to rule out internal injuries (ruptured bladder, fractures, spinal damage, etc.). If a vet is not available, you can try keeping him confined and monitoring him for urination while making sure he is as comfortable as possible, eating, drinking and defecating. Cats have amazing recuperative abilities but if he has undiagnosed (and untreated) internal injuries, then his odds of survival may be decreased significantly.
