Q. My dog has 3 hairline fractures in his leg and after bringing him home from the vet he still cries out in agony. He's coming down from the anesthesi

Answered By

A. Keep him as still and quiet as you can. Crate him if you must. The behavior may be a combination of recovery from anesthesia and pain. The pain can be helped if your vet prescribed/dispensed medication. If not, contact your vet and request pain management. The aftereffects of anesthesia can last up to 72 hours but generally are gone well within 8-12 hours.
