Q. My dog has a fractured ankle that has set crooked. She's 11 y/o with arthritis. Her degree of lameness is increasing-How can I keep it from worsening?

Answered By

A. The best thing to keep her lameness from worsening is to limit her activity. Keep her confined to small areas and prevent her from running or jumping. Leashed walks are best. You should also incorporate a joint supplement like glucosamine. Talk to your veterinarian about anti-inflammatory products as well.
