Q. My ferret is having a seizure how can I get him out of it

Answered By

A. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do short of taking him to the emergency room. Just keep him in a calm and quiet environment until the seizure passes. If it lasts longer than a few minutes, you should take him to an ER Vet ASAP as long term damage could be done. If there are multiple seizures you should also go to an ER. Seizures can be one of the scariest experiences that we see our pets go through, but the only way to stop them are with medications that your vet can give so the best you can do is to keep him safe (in a low area) that is calm and quiet until it is over, and be there for him. I would definitely see a vet as soon as you can to determine the cause and make sure that you can help him not have any more.
