Q. Rescue dog has coccidia and giardia. Can it effect humans (infants) and family dog? How long should you quarantine? Will they always have it?

Answered By

A. Dog's giardia and coccidia is contagious to other dogs but there is only a very small risk that it can be contagious to humans. If you treat your rescue dog for these parasites most likely he/she will fully recover and will not pose any risk to other dogs or humans.
