Q. How long after an accidental overdose of insulin is given will my dog show signs? My husband has dementia and fed him a little early so I'm afraid he

Answered By

A. The peak action of most of the insulins is about 3-6hrs after infection. If your dog does show signs of low blood sugar level (drooling, shaking, problems with balance, fitting) you should put some honey on his gums immediately or give something very sweet to eat (or give sweet water). If this treatment is not effective you should contact your vets without delay.
