Q. Young cat currently being treated from poisoning and recently ate small amount of lillies. Cat is now at vet with kidney failure. Really any hope?

Answered By

A. If the intoxication was diagnosed early and treated straight away there is a chance that the kidney damage is reversible and your kitty will recover. However, most often the signs of kidney damage is noticed late by the owners and the kidney damage is not reversible. I would suggest you to get your cat aggressively treated for 24-48hrs and then re-evaluate kidney performance. This usually allow us to establish if there is a chance for recovery or not.
