Q. I recently rescued a dog, she is a Maltese 8 months, she is pregnant. Should she get a csection and what are her chances of making it? Thank

A. I think it is always better to have natural delivery then c-section. In a very young female it is still possible to avoid c-section. Your dog should have abdominal scan or x-ray to find out how many puppies she has and if the puppies are alive and strong. If everything is ok with pupps and mum I would let her try to have the puppies naturally. It is always possible to step in and do c-section if required.
