Q. I bought a Glucosamine, Chondroitin & MSM supplement for my cat. Each capsule also has 41.25 mg potassium chloride. Is this a safe dosage?

Answered By

A. If the supplement you bought was labelled for use in cats, there should be a chart on the side that will give the correct dosage for your cat's size. If the product was not labelled for use in cats, it is best to check with your local veterinarian for correct dosing information to see if it is safe to give prior to doing so.

Potassium is usually given to pets that are experiencing heart or kidney issues, and changing or increasing the dosage in a healthy or even ill animal can cause problems. As this ingredient is included, contacting your vet first is best.
