Q. Is Trusopt safe to use indefinitely?

Answered By

A. Trusopt is an eye product designed for the treatment of Glaucoma in dogs and cats. It is usually used off-label for pets as it is not FDA approved for use in them.

According to the Plumb's Veterinary Handbook, there are no listed long-term side effects of the medication, however it's continued use depends greatly on your pet's symptoms and condition, and if your veterinarian recommends continuing the med as needed.
