Q. My week old puppy hasn't pooped in 3 days, I tried using a warm, damp wash cloth on the behind to stimulate him but still nothing

A. Puppies completely on milk or formula usually have very liquid stool due to the lack of solids in their diet. If your puppy is unable to defecate on his own even with help, or is experiencing distress from his constipation, it is best to bring him to your local vet for care. Your vet can examine the puppy and check for any problems such as a bowel obstruction that is causing the problem and can recommend treatments that are safe to give to a very young dog.
