Q. What is the dose of diazepam for my 31kg dog & when should I give him it? He suffers severe anxiety during firework season, pacing, trembling, pantin

Answered By

A. If your dog is having severe anxiety during fireworks season it is best to speak with your local veterinarian. Most vets will use a medication called Acepromazine for sedation rather than Diazepam as it is safer on the body and can be more easily prescribed. Diazepam (valium) can be prescribed for anxiety, however the dosage will vary depending on your dog's needs and reaction to the medication.
