Q. Can I use Benadryl on my cat to help with flea allergy? He weighs about 18 lbs..

Answered By

A. Benadryl can be safely used in cats for allergies, however the dosage is significantly lower for cats than that of humans and even dogs. Most vets will recommend a children's liquid benadryl as well in order to make giving the medication easier. (Be sure to buy a syringe with it so you can find the right dose more easily) For dosing information, it is best to contact your local veterinarian who can give you the appropriate dosage for your cat's size.
