Q. Our cat is always tired since he has been fixed and gaining weight what can make him more energetic he used to run around he was a Tom cat

Answered By

A. Neutering can change the hormones in your cat, so he may begin to gain weight and sleep more as he settles into a more "housecat" lifestyle. Keeping him active with interactive toys, limiting excessive treats and feeding a healthy diet can all help to keep him in better shape. If he is very lethargic suddenly, however, or is showing other signs of illness in addition to this, then scheduling a checkup with your local veterinarian to make sure there are not any underlying issues is best.
