Q. My dogs tongue looks like its peeling. A couple long stripes .

Answered By

A. Peeling of the tongue may indicate that your dog had an allergy or burn on the tongue and it is now attempting to heal itself. If the tongue is actively peeling and bothersome to your dog, or if it is actively bleeding or your dog is unable to eat/breathe it is best to schedule a veterinary appointment ASAP to check for the cause of the issue. If you are seeing any other signs of illness in addition to the peeling tongue, alert your vet.
