Q. My senior dog of 14 yr's nose is dry and cracked and puffy. What causes this

Answered By

A. If you're in a location that is very cold or very warm it may just be the skin is a bit dried out, much like what happens to our skin in those situations! Protecting the nose or even using a little coconut oil (safe if your dog licks it) may help with the dry or cracked skin. However, if you see any growths or other signs of illness in addition to the dry skin, it may be best to bring up at your next veterinary wellness check.
