Q. I have a four year old female feral cat that won't let me pet her. What can I do to get her to feel more comfortable with me?

Answered By

A. Time is the best treatment for getting a feral cat used to humans. Let her approach you rather than you approach her. You can try enticing with a favorite treat or smelly food such as boiled chicken or tuna, however you will have to let the cat get used to you first. If you are trying to get her closer to you so you can catch her for examination or vet care, it may be best to use a humane trap instead of waiting for her to approach you.
