Q. My 6 month old pit cross listens to me perfectly, but ignores anyone else when I'm not around. She even nipped at my boyfriend. What do I do?

Answered By

A. They should have treats available and on hand and should not be cornered or crowded. People should allow her to come to them on her own terms and not pet her until she is calm. She likely listens to you because you have more of a relationship and I assume you have taken some time to train her whereas others may not be approaching her with the same type of training methods she is accustomed to. Start with your boyfriend feeding her and gradually work up to leashing up and walking, working in basic obedience, etc always keeping things positive with praise, treats, etc.
