Q. I have a cat that I rescued from a shed. Previously she was abused because when you play with her she hisses and bites and she doesnt like to be held.

A. It may just be that she is under socialized and scared. It will take time for her to gain trust. Do not force yourself on her but rather be patient and let her come around in her own way in her own time. Offer plenty of toys, cat grass, cat tree, scratching post, etc to make her environment more kitty friendly and inviting. Once she knows she's safe, in time she should come around.
