Q. I just found out my dog has an enlarge heart, my concern is why this was not detected earlier and he is a Shih Tzu, so how common is it for his breed

Answered By

A. An enlarged heart is a heart condition that can be caused by many different heart diseases. Is not something you can find in a general check up and needs an Xray to detect it. Probably your vet found a heart noise called murmur and that's why is been found. Is not related with the ShiTzu breed all dogs can be affected.
