Q. Cat has rough, raised "growth" around nail bed. Cat is outdoor, access to ravine with leafy matter, recently got into a fight with some wild animal

A. It dhod just be some localised infection, you could bathe the area in salty water. One tablespoon of salt in a cup of hot water, then leave it to cool down before bathing the area. You can do it twice a day. If you are concerned that the nail is injured or if there is a lot of pus around the nail, book an appointment to see your vet.
