Q. What's the secret to finding a competent vet? Some seem to be more concerned with my wallet than the animal...

Answered By

A. The majority of people working in the veterinary industry, and certainly all the ones I have met, have animals welfare as their number one priority. You would be very unlucky to meet one let alone two that didn't. If you are not happy with the first one you see ask for a second opinion or try a different clinic.

You do have to remember though that it is a business and we all have families to feed and mortgage to pay so we cannot treat pets for free as much as we would love to. Veterinary drugs are unfortunately much more expensive than human medications for us to buy in, it is not that we are making huge profits, we have large overheads to pay for.
